Language
The SexABA Summer Research Consortium will be presented in English. For workshop breakouts, if you would like a space devoted to speaking in a specific language other than English, please email info@SexABA.com so we can have that space prepared as a part of workshop facilitation!

Auditory and Visual Considerations
For the 2023 Conference, all presentations will have live predictive captioning. We do know that this captioning often can contain inaccuracies. Presentation transcriptions will be available live or by request after the conclusion of the consortium. These are being done in-house, and so there may be a delay to them being accessible.

Barrier: American Sign Language will be offered live for the majority of the 2023 Conference, however if live ASL is a barrier for our presenters, there may only be ASL available for the post-conference recordings of that conference session. These sessions will be noted on the scheduling page. Additionally for workshop breakouts or networking space if you would like a space devoted to ASL or other forms of sign language, please email info@SexABA.com so we can have that space prepared as a part of workshop facilitation!

Barrier: For the 2023 Conference, facilitators may be using visual accompaniment such as PowerPoint for their presentations.  Presentations with audio descriptions of all images will be available by request after the conclusion of the research consortium. These are being done in-house, and so there may be a delay to them being accessible.

Location Considerations
For the 2023 Conference, all components are virtual and will involve streaming video. A computer, tablet, or smart phone with video capabilities and data or internet connection will be required to access consortium content. Because many presenters will be using visual accompaniment such as PowerPoint for their presentations, a larger screen may be preferred for visual size accessibility. For live workshop participation it is up to each individual whether they would like to participate with video on or off, with audio on or off, via ASL or other forms of sign language, or via the chat function. Any modality is encouraged, and active participation is encouraged.
